NorVal Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the position of journeyman lineman based in Opheim, Montana.  NorVal is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative with headquarters located in Glasgow, MT.  Currently serving over 3,400 meters within a service territory of five counties.  NorVal owns and maintains approximately 2,200 miles of electric power distribution lines and 193 miles of transmission line.

This position will perform assigned work related to construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution system, and related equipment.  Requirements will include working in inclement weather conditions, working overtime, and being on-call as required.

RUS/Cooperative background is highly desirable; experience in Hot Line preventive maintenance work with rubber gloves and hot line tools is required as well as knowledge of all line materials, assemblies, equipment, and apparatus.  Applicants must possess a high school education (or equivalent), certification from an accredited Power Line Program, in addition to a 4-year Apprenticeship Program.  Applicants must possess, or be able to possess, a Class A CDL with air brakes.
